1) Create the 1099’s the regular way – do the 1099 setup, fill in the electronic filing tabs on the 1099 setup, go to the create edit and do the create.
2)Go to your client data directory and find the file called Dxxxxx.T9R (where xxxxx is your client id)
3)Right click on the file and open with Notepad
4)Edit the ‘T’ record at the very top to add a ‘P’ immediately following the year (in position 6) – hit the delete key to move the rest of the line left 1 space so everything maintains it spacing in the line
5)Save the file
6)Use the ‘electronic W2/1099 List and copy’ to copy the file to another folder to be uploaded
