When paychecks start to print slow the problem is usually that a lot of data is being stored for the client either because there are a lot of employees or a lot of paychecks . When the YTD hours are being calculated the employee data must be searched for the totals.

There are two solutions:

One - Archive the data and leave only the current year (or two) . I have attached some instructions on how this can be done.

Two - Turn off the printing of YTD hours on the checkstub. You can do this by going to setup, payroll, payroll setup and clicking on the 'options and tab stops' tab. Check the box that says 'Suppress printing of YTD hours on check stubs' .
